Chapter Three
Lady Hargrove’s boudoir was nearly as decadent as a sultan’s tent. Julius would have enjoyed examining the artifacts and antiques spread about her room. The flavor was Romanesque but there were Greek and Egyptian pieces interspersed.
His brow furrowed as he examined her more closely.
Her back was to him and she peeled away her gown, stopping to work at some buttons or ties at the back of her waist. He stepped closer to help. The dress fell away in one billowing woosh, leaving only her stays, chemise and stockings.
Underneath, she was lushly proportioned. Well-rounded hips and a small waist accentuated the perfection of her breasts. She unhooked her stays. His fingers skimmed over the silkiness of her chemise before he gripped it loosely and lifted it over her head.
“I can’t help but noticing—“
“Yes?”
“—your artifacts are extraordinary.”
“I am well traveled. But let’s not talk about that now.” She turned in his arms and pushed his jacket, waistcoat and shirt down his arms in one swoop. “You might help, Lord Melvern. I don’t often take a man to my bed who is wearing boots.”
“Oh. Yes. Certainly.”
He found a chair and fumbled. He seemed to have lost strength in his arms. Lady Hargrove walked by—naked, sensual and unashamed. His first boot came free as she pulled back the silken covers on her bed and slipped between.
The second boot nearly flew from his hands. When he stood, he snuffed the nearest candle.
“Leave them. I don’t mind seeing. Or being seen.”
His cock was happily wagging. Perhaps he should have the candles snuffed for his benefit.
“After tonight I will expect more aggressiveness from you. Your shyness is adorable but I prefer to be bedded by an explorer.”
The only part of his body that understood her was his cock and cods. He had been too long confined to the stricture of his class and his profession. It was going to take a good amount of time to become familiar with her assertive nature. Honestly, he had not realized such fashionable women could be so mannish in their desires.
The sheets were already warm from the short time her body had rested on this side of the bed. She scooted, welcoming him into her lair.
“Darling Julius, you have no idea how much I’ve wanted this.”
He had to admit copulation was less anxious-ridden when the women naked beside him so obviously wanted to be with him. It was certainly more rewarding then the first time when he had actually paid to have a woman.
He settled his hand on her waist and caressed her skin. “Did you know the word caress comes from the word—“
“Endearment. French origin. Carezzare, if I remember correctly,” she said.
“Yes, that’s correct. Lady Hargrove, you continue to astound me.”
“Because I remember my studies as a young girl? Or because I know how to provide loving carezzare?”
Her hand stroked the length of his cock and another wave of breathlessness swept over him. Hard tension kept him from enjoying her completely. He could not be convinced there wasn’t something inherently wrong with bedding a woman not his wife.
